Today, one could call it the art of engineering in competition when referring to Porsche’s prototypes. Within the short space of just a few years, the more than 1000 HP strong 5.4 litre twin turbo engine of the Can Am 917 was developed, which had started life as a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine in the 904 GTS only a few years before. The unique design and superior technical development of Porsche’s Prototypes continued to amaze not only the drivers and team bosses, but also the spectators and fans. This book is the final part in our limited edition three volume set of Porsche Racing History in Photographs. Once again, the mostly unpublished photographs will take you on a journey through the glorious days of the 60s and 70s.
